Vista Ridge High School senior Mauricio Orozco Munoz, recognizing Emily Faulkner:
“There are many great VRHS teachers on campus, but Ms. Faulkner stands out by a mile for many reasons. Ever since Freshman year, she has been there to help me and my AVID class in developing responsibility, organization, social skills and many more. The reason why I am the person that I am today is because of her. She has made us get out of our comfort zone and to have good study habits and collaborative abilities through tutorials. We have created an AVID family, becoming better people than who we were before. Not only did she help push us, but also is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. Her work ethic is amazing, and she truly cares for everyone’s success. I had Ms. Faulkner for the two years of high school, but after those years, she has still remained just as helpful, if not more, especially for the college application process and scholarships. There really is not anything that can match my gratitude and appreciation for her.”

Vista Ridge High School senior Ruth Olowoyeye, recognizing Erin Stott:
“Unlike most of the teachers being honored this year, Ms. Stott was never my teacher. Despite this fact, I have known her since my freshman year, which happened to be her first year teaching. We met when I decided to join C2. My freshman year, the upperclassmen at the time ran the club while the two of us learned what it actually took to run a club efficiently. Once the upperclassmen graduated, Ms. Stott and I have been working together year after year to get C2 to where it is today. Even though Ms. Stott was never my academic teacher, she did teach me a lot of life lessons that I will cherish and hold on to for the rest of my life.”
