    Deanna Hynum,
Whitestone Elementary School Kindergarten teacher,
29 years in education and 29 years in LISD

Memorable moment:
"My lasting memory will be of all the students I was blessed to have in my class and in my life. They will always be "my" kids."
    Monica Johnson,
Faubion Elementary School Performing Arts teacher,
34 years in education and 30 years in LISD

Memorable moment:
"I was hired by Carolyn Mabarak 30 years ago to teach music at Faubion. At that time, Cypress Creek was a 2 lane road and the cows across the street from us kept escaping into our playground. When the school was expanded, tarantulas were running around everywhere! Bret Champion was our first Theatre Arts teacher.

I’ve taught in a room that was designed just for me! It’s a bit funny to note that I’ve taught many children of my children. That is special!

It’s been so very exciting teaching the kiddos, watching their love for music grow, and realizing that many have continued their musical interests throughout their lives. Faubion has filled my heart with wonderful memories and I am grateful for the opportunity to have touched so many lives over these past 30 years!"
    DeAnna Phillips,
Leander ISD State & Federal Programs Homebound department,
53 years in education and 34 years in LISD

Memorable moment:
"I remember interviewing at LHS in ‘85 with Charlie Rouse and how friendly and charming he was. Minnie LaFuente was sitting right outside his office, making everyone feel so welcome!"
